You have to do something to bring about the changes in capability and ‘doing something’ requires the use of Resources. Resources can be people, things like materials or equipment and services.
There are four categories of resources that can either be charged on a day-rate
or a unit cost basis. With these four you can model any type of resource.
The left hand tool bar of the Resources tab displays the Resource categories. It is on this left hand size that the resource subcategories and grades are added to the Resource categories. Note the arrows next to the Resource categories. These are expander arrows and can be clicked to expand and show all the subcategories. Click them again to collapse and hide all the subcategories.
Once a grouping or category has been created, further subcategories can be created. This is done by clicking on the category and clicking the green plus symbol. Within each category, you can create multiple Groupings. Within the Groupings, multiple Resources can be created. Within the Resources, multiple Grades can be created. These can all be displayed or hidden when the arrows next to them are clicked.
To edit the names of these categories, double click on the category, delete the old name and type in the new name. All the data in the grid can be added and edited by clicking in the cells or selecting an option from the drop down lists.
Adding resources to nodes will be covered in a separate blog post here.
